Renewing my Indian passport - Part 2 - Got my new passport

From the "black-hole" I got the new passport, it took less than a month. OK for me, be nice to them, you will get it. I called the Houston Indian consulate "black-hole" because you cannot get in contact with them, unless you physically visit :) The old passport is cancelled and returned.

We need biometrics information also in the passport, I think. I know it's breaching our privacy, but just look at the passport, anybody can print one like that. The immigration offices at the port of entry/departure doesn't cross check it with any database for the persons picture or something. "If" the officer is in doubt, he/she just questions the person??? Hello, the cons are not idiots... I heard that IIT (Chennai I think) developed a biometric thing and govt is first implementing for diplomats passports... We need to implement it for all passport holders...

Another thing we should finger-print all foreigners visiting India. USA is doing it and they didn't liked it when Brazil started doing the same... One more example of american hypocrisy...

"Beef" heart

I have tried beef heart today.. well cattle heart... I am in Miami for more than a year I should have tried this earlier... I mentioned Miami because it seems cattle heart is a common thing in south american cuisine.. LOT of south americans in Miami.. that I'll put in another blog... In Miami only I've found (at least I've noticed) cattle heart for sale in grocery stores...

There is this Peruvian restaurant we occasionally go to have good seafood (also the waitress girls are really hot!).. Today I noticed they have beef heart on appetizer menu.. How they prepare is they will cut it in pieces of like 1"x1" marinate it and grilled on fire... so delicious...  They serve with chopped onions and lattice and a dip... I didn't used the dip much.. take it with the onions awesome!!!

Renewing my Indian passport - Part 1

My Indian passport is going to expire in a few months, so I decided to renew it.. Since I am in Florida the assigned consulate for me is the one in Houston.. I mailed my passport and required documents (via UPS overnight).  Next day I thought I will just call them and check if they had received my passport (its my dear passport).... The phone kept ringing nobody is taking the call, I thought they might be getting lot of calls, its desis... you kidding me (I was kidding). They even have a specific time for passport inquiry, 2PM to 4PM CST. I called the next day also, rechecked the number in our consulate's website, no response on the other end of phone line, it just keep ringing... It went like that for couple of days... I was thinking its only couple days to wait more, afterall the Houston consulate website says they will send the new passport in 5 days....

I just googled about Houston consulate service, moment of truth, people who have experienced Houston consulate says its ridiculous and frustrating... Nobody picks up the call, the staff had told not to answer the phone, wonder why they have a phone line there and publish the number under "Contact Us"...  In may forums I found people's frustrations... I learned that it will take 1-2 months to process the renewal and the website is misleading by saying 5 days... Nobody replies any e-mails, phone voice mail box is always full etc.... When you go in person, the staff is very rude and intimidating... Anyway I am waiting for my renewed passport and my dear old passport... Btw I send a mail to the Indian ministry of external affairs, who knows what...

Nonetheless, Indian consulate service is way better than how US consulate in Chennai treat people...

I'll update..

"Unnatural"

"Unnatural", honestly I don't know what that means. It's a superficial word, its a meaningless word.. Think about it... What do you call unnatural? Chemicals? Weired behavior, habits? Things made in labs? Don't laugh I gonna take a ridiculous example, a plastic bag, I have heard that people say its an artificial or"unnatural" object.. what? May be they say it because its man made... Ah that is my point, its man made, OK, man is a part of nature right? his brain is a part of nature right? So all the thoughts coming of the brain is a natural thing right. All his/her actions are command from the brain so all his actions are natural... That's what I think... I haven't read anywhere about this, almost all of my thoughts I can find the same lines in the internet.. That prompted me to publish my first blog... :)
